Job Description
The Tax Manager | Private Client at Forvis Mazars is responsible for providing sophisticated tax compliance, consulting, and planning services to individuals, multi-generational families, fiduciaries, and more. This position requires a deep understanding of taxation compliance and consulting related to personal, partnership, trust, estate, gift, and wealth retention strategies, as well as charitable entities managed by ultra-high net worth clients. The Tax Manager will also be involved in client development and team management, as well as conducting research to stay current as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Provide tax compliance and advisory services to individuals, partnerships, trusts, estates, and private foundations. - Develop, build, and manage client relationships as part of the proposal process. - Participate in networking activities to expand business opportunities and client relationships. - Maintain expertise and understanding of a client's business or family structure to effectively address client concerns and challenges. - Assist with managing, developing, and coaching professional tax staff. - Review and manage projects prepared by tax associates and seniors. - Delegate responsibilities to others and monitor efforts of engagement teams. - Utilize technology tools in regular assignments and demonstrate a commitment to improving work processes through technology. - Research complex tax issues, apply findings to projects, and clearly communicate those findings in writing.
Qualifications
- 5 years of related experience in public accounting, law firm, or trust department. - Bachelor or graduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. - CPA license or J.D. degree and bar admission. - Experience managing multiple client engagements.
